Hello! My name is Aletse, co-founder of Aletse's, a family business dedicated to educating, distributing, and marketing sustainable menstrual management products. For empowered individuals who are conscious of their health and their impact on the environment. We constantly provide valuable content and validate the use of eco-friendly products that help us manage our physiological processes, such as menstruation.
I am joined by my family, Julio, my husband, who has been my greatest support and is in charge of managing all the administrative and 'boring' aspects of the business. And Marie, our baby (the boss), who motivates us every day to keep moving forward and makes us work consciously to leave a positive impact on the environment and future Guatemalan generations.
Let me tell you a bit about how we started...
A few years ago, I wanted to dive into the world of menstrual cups. I had been using tampons for a couple of years, but they had started to become more of my enemies than my allies. Vaginal infections became more frequent, and the discomfort I felt when removing tampons during the last days of my period made me look for other alternatives. That's how I found the menstrual cup.
It was a game-changer. Do you remember the Cinderella movie where her dress magically changes? That's how I felt. It wasn't just the comfort that returned to me; it was also the perspective that gave me a 180-degree turn regarding menstruation.
I was never an entrepreneurial person, but Julio encouraged me to create this project together. So, it was 10 cups and a suitcase that accompanied us on our first visits, going door to door to introduce this healthy, comfortable, and safe option.
We posted on Facebook, and soon a message came in: I'm interested. My heart was racing. We coordinated an appointment to visit her at her home that same day.
Julio waited for me outside, always cheering me on, and after spending about 40 minutes explaining to our first user, we made our first sale.
We started reaching more people, and home visits became a bit complicated, but we had the opportunity to introduce ourselves through other channels, like our website. www.copasmenstrualesgt.com
